Instructions:

a. Spend 5 minutes looking at the picture story in Activity 6.

b. Write a short story based on either of the following themes:

1) A turtle’s life is a diffi cult one.
2) Action is needed today to ensure that future generations can experience and enjoy
marine turtles.

Teacher’s Note: You can decide the length of the story based on your students’ experience in
creative writing. Alternatively, you may choose to ask them to write an essay or a poem. Ask for
volunteers to read out their stories to the class. Share the best stories with the other classes at
the school.
