Splitting a beehive is how you make new beehives (colonies). It is taking some of the frames of bees and brood from one hive and putting them in another hive box. Afterwards you have two beehives. You must either give the new hive a queen, or capped queen cell, that has been bought or you must help the new hive raise a new one.
